Association spreads holiday cheer at annual events

2010 Holiday Awards Luncheon & Annual Meeting

The 2010 Holiday Awards Luncheon & Annual Meeting of the association and CML S was held at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park Dec. 10. More than 400 Realtors®, exhibitors and staff joined together to celebrate the holidays and toast the newly crowned Realtor® of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Humanitarian Award winner and the recipients of the Committee Chair of the Year and President’s awards. Giving back in Charlotte As an annual tradition, the association’s Housing Opportunity Foundation held its Silent Auction, which featured 137 items up for bid that collectively raised more than $7,500. In addition, the foundation’s annual passing of the Santa hats raised another $875 for the foundation. Supportive sponsors This year’s Holiday Luncheon featured 23 exhibitors and table sponsors who greeted members with information and goodies. Platinum sponsors Mercedes Homes and Myers Park Mortgage met attendees as they entered the event. Awards aplenty Boston Reid with Jamison Realty was named the 2010 Vane Mingle Rookie of the Year award recipient. Aric Beals with Berryhill Realty was named the 2010 Realtor® of the Year.


Northern Region Holiday Luncheon

Association staff traveled north on Dec. 8 for the 2010 Northern Region Holiday Awards Luncheon. The event was at the Barium Springs Home for Children’s Little Joe’s Chapel & Enrichment Center in Troutman. More than 70 Realtor® members joined Habitat for Humanity representatives and special guests to share a sense of community, enjoy fellowship, and celebrate the season.

Marion Karr, the keynote speaker, reviewed his personal journey to support a very worthy cause in Hinds Feet Farm. He reminded us all that it is not who you help, but it is also the effort of helping and being involved that counts. Habitat Iredell and Our Town Habitat were presented with $2,500 checks from the Housing Opportunity Foundation’s Habitat Support Grant Program. An honorarium was also presented to Marion Karr for Hinds Feet Farm.

An outstanding array of items was on display for the holiday raffle. Attendees had multiple chances to win one or more of the fabulous items donated by our members and other supporters of the foundation. The $528 in proceeds will support the foundation’s work of addressing unmet housing needs in our community.
